Day 11 is Polka Dots. For this one I dug out a mani from the archive that I never posted – I’ve been waiting for this opportunity! It’s a simple mani, but I was so proud of it because these are the neatest nails I’ve ever done on my Cinderella hand!
I started with my trusty OPI Original Nail Envy as a base coat. Then I painted two coats of each of these polishes:
Models Own Hypergel Lilac Sheen on my index and little fingers
OPI Alpine Snow on my middle finger
Nails Inc Chelsea Manor Gardens on my ring finger
Next, I used a dotting tool to cover each nail in dots, using Alpine Snow on all fingers except the middle, where I used Models Own Hypergel Cornflower Gleam.
Finally, I used a layer of Models Own Hypergel Topcoat on each nail.
Day 12 is Stripes. Nautical might not be the most innovative interpretation, but I’ve never done them before!
I started with a base of OPI Nail Envy, and then two coats of OPI Alpine Snow.
This is the part that requires patience – I was going to use nail vinyls for my stripes and there is nothing worse than putting them on too soon and taking off half the polish with it – grrr!!
When I was sure the white was 100% dry, I applied nail vinyls and painted over a coat of Nails Inc Motcomb Street. When using nail vinyls it’s essential you take them off asap after painting the top layer.
On the ring finger, I took inspiration from Nail Candy and painted a sailor style rope. I started with OPI Lady in Black using a super thin striping brush. Once that was dry, I added the rope detail using a dotting tool and Barry M Mustard.
Finally, one coast of Glisten & Glow HK Girl Topcoat.
Enjoy! 🙂
