Day 29 is ‘Inspired by the supernatural’. As Halloween is just round the corner, I wanted to save up all my spiders, ghosts and general creepy things for October so I decided to do something a bit different.
My first true TV love was Charmed, an American show about three sister witches. I was a teenager when I discovered it part way through season 2, and I was hooked right up until the final episode of season 8.
Anyway – what’s more supernatural than witchcraft?
For this mani, I chose to recreate the iconic Book of Shadows – the Halliwell sisters’ book of spells and potions. This is also my first one using all polishes from the AW14 collections (yes I know some of them have been out a while!)
I started with one coat of Barry M Gelly Cardamom – I always forget how great these Gellys are, I got almost full opacity from just the one coat.
Once dry, I took a ball of cling film and did a Saran Wrap mani with Essie The Perfect Cover Up.
Next I added the triquetra symbol using a thin striping brush and Barry M Gelly Paprika.
Finally, I finished with Models Own Matte Topcoat.
Enjoy! 🙂
