Day 23 is ‘Inspired by a movie’. I chose my favourite film Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day – a beautiful feel-good film that always makes me smile!
I had a bit of a mare with this one as I tried various more complicated manis inspired by the film poster but wasn’t happy with them. In the end, I went for something much simpler and I’m actually glad it turned out this way.
This mani is inspired by the dress Miss Pettigrew wears towards the end of the film – blue velvet with a pink flower on her shoulder. She wears it in some of the best scenes in the movie and it’s the outward sign of how much she’s transformed in just one day.
I started with two coats of OPI Dating a Royal.
Once dry, I used a large dotting tool to add a blob of OPI Shorts Story to create the base of the rose.
For the detail, I used a very thin striper brush and Nails Inc Chelsea Manor Gardens.
As always I finished with a coat of HK Girl.
